Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasonings
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cajun seasonings (or red pepper flakes)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onions
  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 lb. lean Italian pork sausage (salsiccia)
  • 1/2 cup Italian breadcrumbs
  • 1/3 cub grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 44oz. jar of pasta sauce
  • 1/2 cup red wine

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, beat egg with salt, Italian seasoning, garlic, and Cajun seasoning.
  2. Add chopped onion, beef, pork, bread crumbs, and Parmesan cheese.
  3. Mix thoroughly.
  4. Shape into 2" balls and place into 5 qt. slow cooker.
  5. Once all of your meat has been shaped, mix pasta sauce with wine in bowl and pour over meatballs.
  6. Cover and cook on low for about 6 1/2 hours.
