Ingredients

  • 3 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 4 carrots, cut into small pieces
  • 4 stalks of celery, cut into small pieces
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 lbs beef stew meat
  • 3 tbs vegetable oil
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 tsp seasoned salt
  • 1 tsp rosemary
  • 1 tsp herbs de provence
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp flour
  • 3 tsp cold water

Instructions

  1. If needed, trim stew meat into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a large cooking pot, heat oil over medium heat until oil is hot.
  3. Cook stew meat until brown.
  4. Add in beef broth, seasoned salt, rosemary, pepper, and herbs de provence and stir.
  5. Continue to heat until boiling. Increase heat to medium-high if needed.
  6. Reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 1 hour.
  7. Add potatoes, carrots, onion, and celery and stir together.
  8. In a separate container, combine cornstarch, flour, and water. Stir thoroughly.
  9. Add cornstarch mixture into the pot and stir the stew.
  10. Cover and simmer for an additional hour.
